It was a long cold spring making it hard to get work done on baji-naji. Visited Chicago twice and helped Jacqui move stuff from Chicagoland to CT. We went to CT and celebrated Tristan's 8th birthday mid April. L2 went with Stacie to visit Ginger in FL.
Laz modified the battery well to accept a second LiFePO4 battery. We got a nice piece of marine plywood from Steven of Vela.
Wednesday April 29th
baji-naji was splashed! We happened to be at the marina to work on her; it was a lot of fun to watch the process.
Saturday May 2nd
Chuck delivered our new mainsail, the adjusted jib and the clean code-0. Wow, so nice to have.
Laz put in aft blower to circulate air in the aft cabin
Installed Starlink
Laz put in new Raymarine display on port side
5/27 Start 1238.0
Shake down sail.
Checked stove, took a while to start up but was fine, no smells that we could tell while it was on.
Engine purrs
New mainsail with roach, wow! Could use tell tales.
Jib is stuck somewhere, would not unfurl. Wind initially from NW
Sailed down a bit of the channel on the main then wind died, turned around to put up code-0 because it was flaked (and clean!) and had a lovely downwind sail towards the gravel barges. Tug boat S. Martin Thorpe was working. Wind picked up to 3-4 kts as it shifted S. Dropped anchor before the flats to check windlass, anchor etc. Was thinking of going up in the bosun's chair to see what is going on with the jib but then heard a securité on the VHF. We forgot to bring the hand held VHF, so turned on put the main one since there was a working barge near us. Securité was for thunderstorm approaching sector MD which is a lot of area. Check of radar showed nasty line, all seemed to be below the Bay Bridge. Better part of valor to back to dock. Decided to let Garrett check rigging and jib instead of going up.

Caulked the hole in the aft wine cellar just at the companionway as it is just at the waterline.
Will need to put in chlorine tablet before using Purasan.
